Personality Awards categories 2012
Personality of the Year
For this top award in the Personality section of the categories, the judges will be looking to find the personality who best demonstrates the strength of that fight back and wins plaudits from across the financial world for their skill in leading from the front.
Rising star
The judges will be tasked to find the person most likely to emerge as the next star dealmaker, investor or chief executive
Analyst of the Year
The analyst of the year will be somebody who has made a spectacularly good call on a company, sector or economy
Dealmaker of the Year
Self-explanatory. The winner of this award will be the person who has led the biggest or most innovative deals of the year and who will almost certainly be a household name among City A.M. readers
Lawyer of the Year
Will go to the lawyer that performs outstandingly either on a host of cases or on one particular case
Trader of the Year – sponsored by GFT
This will go to a person or team that we judge to have performed spectacularly well in a difficult year
Entrepreneur of the Year
This will recognise an individual or individuals who have not only taken the initiative to venture out on their own, but also have been successful with their new enterprise and are now managing and growing a profitable business.
Company Awards categories 2011
City A.M. Business of the Year - sponsored by City A.M.
This award is in the gift of City A.M. only. It will be presented at the Awards ceremony by the editor of City A.M. and represents the paper's objective editorial assessment of the companies that have proved themselves to be leaders during a most turbulent 18-month eligibility period, many of whom will be winners in the Company categories. The editorial team will single out the company it believes to be worthy of the award.
Alternative manager of the Year
Hedge funds and private equity firms are battling against creeping regulation from Europe and elsewhere but City A.M. is intent on rewarding the most innovative and trailblazing funds.
Fund manager of the Year - sponsored by Standard & Poors
The fund manager award will go to the winning company either on the basis of performance or for a stance taken during a high profile corporate issue.
Insurance company of the Year
Insurance companies are a major part of London's financial services sector and this award will go to the company that has been most innovative or most successful during the past year.
Investment bank of the Year - sponsored by Color Co.
Investment bankers might not have many friends these days amongst the general public but City A.M. will be proud to honour the business that is most successfully putting investment banking back on the map.
Law firm of the Year
Will award the firm that has been most proactive during the year in doing deals, spotting trends or backing campaigns, such as anti-hedge fund regulation.
Marketing Campaign of the Year - sponsored by Novus
This award will go to the company that has made the most effective use of their marketing armoury to achieve specific objectives. Agencies may enter on behalf of their clients.
Professional services Firm of the Year
This will be awarded to either an accountancy, recruitment or management consultancy firm for their achievements during the year.
Property firm of the Year
The City's landscape is forever changing. The property firm of the year will either be the most successful in terms of its profitability or will be given the award for its success and innovation on a particular project.
Retail broker of the Year
The retail broker of the year will be one that has spotted a situation, a trend, or has consistently been on the right track in advising clients.
